Matters Needing Attention During Operation of Jaw Crusher

Temperature of Friction Components of Jaw Crusher

During high-speed operation of the jaw crusher, power consumed by friction is completely converted into heat, resulting in temperature rise of friction components.

When lubricating oil is applied for lubrication, it continuously absorbs and dissipates heat from friction surfaces, or carries away heat with a sufficient oil supply, so as to lower the temperature of friction surfaces.

1. Moving Jaw Temperature

The jaw crusher crushes materials by squeezing and grinding through the reciprocating vertical movement of jaw plates. The moving jaw moves close to the fixed jaw to compress and crush materials, then moves away from the fixed jaw, and finished materials are discharged from the discharge opening.

The moving jaw operates under high working load, and its temperature is prone to abnormal overheating. Once the temperature rises to a certain limit, it will cause damage to the jaw plates. Corresponding measures shall be taken in a timely manner to solve abnormal temperature rise of the moving jaw, avoid shutdown caused by equipment failure, and reduce production efficiency loss.

2. Bearing Temperature

When the jaw crusher operates under high temperature conditions, the bearing temperature shall be closely monitored to maintain good lubrication. Meanwhile, check for abnormal noise and vibration.

If any abnormality is found, stop the machine immediately for inspection, identify the root cause, and confirm whether the equipment is blocked by non-crushable materials or whether the hammer and other components are damaged.
