Product Introduction

The XS wheel bucket sand washer features high cleaning efficiency, reasonable structure and large output. It causes little sand loss during the sand washing process. In particular, the transmission parts are isolated from water and sand.

Fault Maintenance

In the operation process, the production of the sand washer is often affected by motor faults. The main fault phenomena are as follows:

1. Inspection and Maintenance of Stator and Rotor Core

Both the stator and rotor are laminated with mutually insulated silicon steel sheets, forming the magnetic circuit part of the motor. The damage and deformation of the stator and rotor core are mainly caused by the following reasons:

① Excessive bearing wear or improper assembly leads to friction between the stator and rotor, damaging the core surface and further causing short circuits between silicon steel sheets. This increases motor iron loss and results in excessive motor temperature rise. At this time, use a fine file to remove burrs, eliminate short circuits of silicon steel sheets, clean thoroughly, apply insulating varnish, and heat for drying.

② Excessive force during removal of the old winding causes the slots to tilt and open outward. Use needle-nose pliers, wooden hammers and other tools to reshape and reset the slots. For gaps that cannot be fully reset, insert hard insulating materials such as shell paper and bakelite board between the silicon steel sheets.

③ Core surface rust caused by moisture and other factors. Polish the surface clean with sandpaper, clean up and apply insulating varnish.

④ Grounded winding generates high heat and burns the core slots or tooth parts. Chisel out molten deposits with a chisel or scraper, apply insulating varnish and dry.

⑤ Loose connection between the core and frame. Tighten the original positioning screws. If the positioning screws fail, re-drill and tap positioning holes on the frame, then fasten the screws tightly.

2. Inspection and Maintenance of Sand Washer Bearing

The rotating shaft is supported and rotated by bearings, which bear heavy load and are vulnerable to wear.

① Fault Inspection

a. On-operation inspection: A rolling bearing lacking lubricant makes a rumbling sound; intermittent stiff knocking sound may indicate cracked bearing race. Slight noise occurs when sand and impurities enter the bearing or parts have minor wear.

b. Post-disassembly inspection: First check the rolling elements, inner and outer races for damage, rust and scars. Hold the inner ring and lay the bearing flat, then push the outer ring firmly with the other hand. A qualified bearing runs smoothly without vibration or obvious jamming, and the outer ring does not reverse after stopping. Otherwise, the bearing is unfit for further use. Hold the outer ring with the left hand and push the inner ring in all directions with the right hand; loose movement means severe wear.

② Fault Repair

Rust spots on the bearing surface can be polished off with No.00 sandpaper and cleaned with gasoline. Replace the bearing with a new one if there are cracks, broken inner/outer races or severe wear. The new bearing must be of the same model as the original.

3. Inspection and Maintenance of Sand Washer Shaft

① Shaft bending: Minor bending can be repaired by grinding the journal and slip ring. If the bending exceeds 0.2 mm, place the shaft on a press for straightening, then turn and polish the surface with a lathe after correction. Replace the entire shaft if bending is excessive.

② Journal wear: Slight wear can be repaired by chrome plating followed by grinding to standard size. Moderate wear can be repaired by surfacing welding then lathe finishing. For severe wear, turn down the journal by 2-3 mm, make a matching sleeve, shrink-fit it onto the journal while hot, then machine it to the required dimension.
