Product Overview
Z‑type chain bucket elevator (Z‑shaped chain bucket elevator) is a closed‑path continuous conveyor that moves bulk materials along a horizontal–vertical–horizontal route. It uses chains as the traction element to carry buckets, making it suitable for heavy‑duty, high‑temperature, or abrasive material handling.
Construction & Working Principle
Main Components
Casing: Enclosed carbon steel/304/316L stainless steel, dust‑tight and leak‑proof.
Buckets: Mounted on chains; material options: carbon steel, stainless steel, or food‑grade plastic (ABS/PP).
Chain System: Heavy‑duty link chains (alloy steel) for traction; sprockets at top (drive) and bottom (take‑up).
Drive & Tension: Top‑mounted motor (with inverter for speed control); bottom gravity/screw tensioner.
Inlet/Outlet: Bottom horizontal inlet, top horizontal outlet; multiple inlets/outlets available.
Working Principle
Material flows into buckets at the bottom horizontal section (no digging, low breakage).
Chains carry buckets upward vertically.
At the top, buckets flip to discharge material at the upper horizontal section.
Empty buckets return along the outer casing to the bottom, cycling continuously.
Key Features
Z‑shaped Layout: Replaces three conveyors (horizontal + vertical + horizontal); saves 30–40% floor space.
Gentle Handling: Inflow feeding + induced discharge; breakage rate <0.5%, ideal for fragile materials (e.g., grains, snacks).
Fully Enclosed: Dust‑free, no spillage; meets food/pharmaceutical hygiene standards.
Multi‑point Access: Single/multiple inlets and outlets; flexible for complex production lines.

Best for | High temp, abrasive, heavy materials | Fragile, low‑temp, food |
Selection Tips
Material Properties: Size, flowability, fragility, temperature, corrosion → choose bucket/chain/casing material.
Capacity & Dimensions: Required throughput, lifting height, horizontal length, inlet/outlet points.
Environment: Dust‑proof, explosion‑proof, hygiene grade → select sealing and motor type.
Control: Variable speed (inverter), PLC interlock, remote monitoring.
Heavy‑duty Chain: Handles high temperature (<120°C), abrasive, or heavy materials better than belt‑type.
